How to plan a productive Foshan sourcing trip

Start with rooms, priorities and decisions. Then choose the showrooms.

THE SHORT ANSWER

A useful sourcing trip begins before the first showroom visit. Organize your project by room and product category, identify what can be selected now, and reserve time to compare written specifications. A busy itinerary is not the same as a completed buying plan.

Prepare a brief that suppliers can work with

Bring the destination country, current floor plan or measured room dimensions, a room list, reference images and a budget range. Mark each reference as a style idea, a preferred material or an exact product requirement. Keep the drawing revision and measurement date visible.

  • Fixed items: cabinets, doors, windows and sanitary fittings need dimensions and technical checks.
  • Loose furniture: check usable room space, circulation and delivery access.
  • Finishes: record the sample, colour, surface and intended application.

Make each visit answer a buying question

Group visits around the decisions you need: compare cabinet construction, confirm a sofa size, inspect a tile finish or review packing. Ask the supplier what is actually being quoted. A display model may use different materials, hardware or dimensions from the offered version.

Leave with a decision record, not just photographs

For each serious candidate, record the supplier, item code, dimensions, material, finish, quantity, quotation version and unresolved questions. Put alternatives beside each other before choosing. Ask which items require a drawing or sample approval before production and who will approve them.

What should be confirmed before travel?

Confirm the project scope and appointments before booking a route around particular factories or specialists. Visit duration depends on category count, design readiness and the number of decisions still open. This guide does not promise supplier availability or a fixed number of buying days.

TAKE THIS INTO YOUR PROJECT

Your takeaway checklist

  • Destination and current drawings
  • Room-by-room priority list
  • Reference images with labels
  • Comparison sheet and approval owner

Planning guidance only. Product specifications, prices, fees, dates and responsibilities require written project confirmation. Local technical and regulatory approvals remain with the responsible professionals.
